4 Excellent Small Cars to Buy Used
The market for small cars is wide open, which means there are plenty of options out there for bargain hunters who want something reliable, inexpensive, and efficient. Here are some of the current highlights:
Honda Fit
Honda’s legendary dependability also comes with a high resale price, which unfortunately means it’s hard to find a bargain from a recent year. Luckily, the subcompact Fit is inexpensive in the first place, which means you don’t have to search for too long to find a model for under $10,000.
Hyundai Elantra
The Elantra is a bargain even when it’s new, and although the feature list may not be spectacular, the fuel economy and spacious interior are things anyone can appreciate. The engine isn’t anything to write home about, but it performs well enough for a commuter car.
Toyota Corolla
Like Honda, Toyota is well known for its solid designs, and while you can expect more than the usual number of features even on the base models, the Corolla’s engine is designed more for reliability and efficiency than for power and excitement.
Ford Focus
Ford’s compact car is a solid, affordable design with plenty of trunk space and a few more features than you’d expect. Like the other cars on this list, the engine of the Focus is generally unremarkable, but its handling is particularly reactive. This is good both for the car’s safety rating and for driving down winding country roads on your days off.
Not all small cars are made equal, so decide what’s most important and find the vehicle that’s right for you.
